back on track fitness

"Our goal is to assist cancer survivors in getting back
on track.  We will provide a supportive and motivating environment for people as they regain physical and mental well-being through exercise."

Joanne Nicholson,
BHK has been a kinesiologist in the personal exercise rehabilitation field for over 8 years.  She has a degree in Human Kinetics from the University of BC, and has been working with the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Center since completing her practicum.  Joanne works with a very diverse clientele from sports injuries to myofascial pain.  Her positive attitude allows her to make people feel comfortable and motivated.

Her most recent interest is in Cancer Exercise Therapy.  Her experiences with people living with cancer have proven that there is a very large discrepancy in information and resources concerning cancer and exercise.  As a result “Back on Track Fitness” has been developed.

Phil Sera has always been active in swimming, running and outdoor pursuits such as backpacking and snowboarding.  Phil has over 12 years experience working with people in educational and motivational roles as an outdoor educator and as a personal trainer.  A growing percentage of Phil’s clientele are post-rehabilitation.

Phil’s primary goals are encouraging self-esteem and independence through a progressive and tailored exercise program.  He believes that fitness training can be used as a vehicle for confidently enjoying a healthy active lifestyle.
